Two Halff Projects Honored by APA Central Texas
AUSTIN, Texas — Two Halff projects earned recognition from the American Planning Association (APA) Central Texas Section. The City of Marble Falls received the Comprehensive Plan Award for the 2024 Marble Falls Comprehensive Plan. Additionally, the City of Liberty Hill won the General Plan Award for the 2024 Liberty Hill Downtown Master Plan.
The City of Marble Falls Comprehensive Plan was developed to provide guidance for the physical development, redevelopment and future growth direction within the Marble Falls planning area. It introduced a character-based framework that aligned infrastructure with the distinct identity of Marble Falls’ urban, suburban and rural areas, ensuring that transportation systems were not only functional but also enhanced livability and sense of place. As the city continues to serve as a hub in the Highland Lakes Region, this plan reaffirms a commitment to thoughtful, strategic growth. It reflects a cultural shift in Marble Falls, where planning is not seen as a one-time effort but an ongoing, collaborative process to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future.
Halff provided strategic and special area planning services for Liberty Hill’s Downtown Master Plan. The plan aimed to realize the city’s desired downtown renaissance through a comprehensive 10-year revitalization strategy centered around Main Street. The plan included outlines for land use and urban design framework, concepts for improved mobility and placemaking strategies, and an implementation action plan.
